Out with the old and in with the new. I finally decided to update my blogs look and feel. So jumping on the band wagon of web 2.0 icons, I started to re-design the site.
And here it is! It's taken me about 30 hours of work and lots of late nights, but I'm quite happy with it. The hardest thing I find when designing is coming up with an idea. So I spent quite awhile browsing sites to get some inspiration.
I use BlogCFC by Ray Camden (can't wait for version 6 ray), and needed to modify a few bits of code so that the design worked. I also tweaked various files sp that the site now passes the W3C validator for xhtml 1.0 strict.
Within the next few days I'll post a tutorial on how I created some of the graphics and also provide the .psd (photoshop files) for them.
I've still got a little bit of work to do on this and that, but the main bulk has been achieved.
Let me know what you think.

Very nice Phil, I like it. I didn't know you had design skills too. My only negative comment would be that it's all very large and chunky and at 800x600 those icons probably look monsterous, indded they look huge at 1024 x 768. Great for short sighted folks like myself though who need to be 10 inches away from the screen to read anything. All you need now is a link to my blog in your bookmarks and your rocking :-)
Thanks Russ - I designed it so that it fits into a min 1024 screen. I'm also in the process of making the site shrinkable and exandable. I've added you to my bookmarks, anychance you cna do the same?
